My name is Agnes

and I have been an instructor of classical baroque horsemanship for over ten years. Since it is not possible to achieve fine control without a functional seat, I have since combined my knowledge of the teachings of the old masters with seat training ideas based on Elaine Butler's Rider Ability concept. She has been a long-time pupil and trainer of Mary Wanless.

Incidentally, I myself was already unstoppable at the tender age of two when I saw horses and I have been riding since I was five years old. During the holidays at that time, I was allowed to take my first vaulting lessons. A short time later, I then took the usual lunge lessons at the riding club in our village and then took part in the stable's schooling. The main focus here was show jumping.

After I turned my back on the way the horses were handled at the centre when I was twelve, I mainly went cross-country for ten years with two horses that were made available to me. I also regularly helped out at a holiday centre in France during the summer holidays and was later allowed to lead groups through the forest or to the beach.

After my studies in France, I initially built on this time. I then concentrated more on dressage work and continued to educate myself in this area. At the time, I was also very interested in equine physiotherapy and attended several courses. However, I did not pursue this area professionally (you can't do everything ;).

In 2014, I successfully completed the BfkbR trainer course (academical baroque riding) and have been working as a trainer ever since. Many further training courses followed (in addition to regular further training with Richard Hinrichs in theory and practice, I also ride with other trainers whose work I admire whenever possible, I continue my education in the area of seat training and also attend further training courses in other areas, such as a course in 2020 on the Masterson method of bodywork for horses and a seminar in 2020 and 2021 with Kirsti Ludwig on the subject of Horsespeak according to Sharon Wilsie.

You would like to know, what is meant by "Classical baroque Riding" ?

I offer riding lessons and clinics throughout Europe based on the Rider Ability© concept by Elaine Butler:

  • Lessons with video analysis and theory

  • Theoretical seminar ‘Stick to the ball’: Dry runs for a perfect riding position

  • Focus of Rider Ability Coaching:

  • Developing a better body awareness (When am I in alignment? Recognising imbalances, finding the right stability/flexibility)

  • Smart solutions that bring real change

  • Conveying the horse's movements in such a way that the rider learns to understand and feel them

  • Ideas tailored to the student's individual learning style for lasting and sustainable improvement of the seat

  • Creating a checklist that the student can use to correct themselves

  • Improving the horse's movement potential and health through a balanced rider seat
