In cooperation with Lisa Maas from Lusitania Dressage
Lisa Maas is my contact person in Portugal. She has been living in Portugal since 2017. If you have read my travel guide, you already know her. But maybe you already knew her and she told you about my travel guide? Lisa breeds Lusitanos herself and, under the Lusitania Dressage label, she offers not only advice and mediation when buying Lusitanos but also seminars and lessons.
We organise our trips to Portugal together. This way you can benefit twice from our knowledge.

For example, around the Tagus...
The centrepiece of the Lusitano world is, of course, the Ribatejo. This is the fertile land around this great river in Portugal, which is the subject of many stories. It rises in Spain and later flows through Portugal and into the sea at Lisbon. At around 1007 km, it is the longest river on the Iberian Peninsula. The ancient Greek historian Strabo called it Τάγος (‘Tágos’), the Romans gave it the name Tagus. In Portugal, the area south of the Tagus is called ‘Alentejo’, while the immediate area around the Tagus is called Ribatejo. This area is particularly agricultural and in the middle of it lies Golegã - the capital of Lusitanos.
Open doors to unknown worlds, to traditions and peculiarities
I find hardly anything more exciting than getting to know other cultures, their traditions and their history. Do you feel the same way? Of course, it's even better when you can stroke horse noses and everything else revolves around our favourite four-legged friends.

Palaces, Quintas & Herdades
Portugal's range of attractions is almost inexhaustible, and many of these places are directly or indirectly connected with the history of the Lusitano, the Portuguese horse. Would you like to join us on a journey to discover these places? Then you've come to the right place.
